Meet the Players: Hamburglar... Unstoppable Force of Destruction?

Well here we are again.  Rusty Russellson here with another Russell Cup Invitational Season 2 exclusive.  Today, we bring you news, insight and coverage on the only competitor that has yet to be seen: The Real Hamburglar.

Not much is known about this sly, skilled, innovative and possibly dangerous force of destruction.  He is most well-known for his ability to see past the metagame, allowing him to execute face-shattering rushes on both his opponents’ forces, as well as their morale.

Since his first appearance in the Russell Cup Invitational Season 1 (One), many of his strategies have made their way into the other competitors’ playbooks.  This season alone, his trademark BM rush has seen use by Braynor in almost all of his matches, though the returning champion’s execution of the strategy has been unsuccessful, even against Brewdwarf.  Other strategies, such as his trademark Burger Baneling Build, or his mass queen attack have been copied or adapted since their initial appearance, most recently on Debris Field as Jimbotron’s Cross-Platform Queen Attack Drop managed to secure a victory for Braynotron.

Last season, it was Brewdwarf’s controversial remake in his series against Hamburglar that knocked him into the loser’s bracket, and Gamblor’s repeated Mothership rush strategies that finally did him in.  Yet with Brewdwarf’s seemingly legitimate transition back to less controversial tactics this season, and Gamblor’s poor record suggesting a weakness in his play, Hamburglar’s fans are predicting that his performance will be Very Good.

With Jimbotron’s Advanced Planning coming into effect this season and dominating the competition, many are wondering if somehow Hamburglar’s talents could be the key to defeating this unstoppable force.  Will Hamburglar be able to see past Jimbotron’s planning and take the lead away from him?  If he succeeds, will others copy his strategies as they have so many times in the past?  Or will Hamburglar keep this knowledge hidden, perhaps even use it to secure his own position at the top of the scoreboard as he teams up with Jimbotron in the innovative new format, creating some sort of unstoppable mega-duo?

Having played a total of zero (0) matches this season, Hamburglar has a total of twelve (12) games left to play.  With the new changes in the Russell Cup Invitational Format this season, many are wondering how well Hamburglar will adapt, or if any adaptation will even be necessary.  The oyster is his world and the 2v2 map pool his canvas.  How will Hamburglar’s masterful strokes of the proverbial brush shape the outcome of the Russell Cup Invitational Season 2?  What masterpiece will this innovative player create?  Fans are on the edge of their seats with anticipation.  This is Rusty Russellson, signing off.
