Meet the Players: Jimbotron, Wave of the Future?
Hello, and welcome to another Russell Cup Invitational Season 2 exclusive. Rusty Russellson here to bring you coverage of our first ever Meet the Players segment, bringing you an in-depth look on the strategies, habits and highlights of our competitors as the Russell Cup Invitational gears up for the next round of play.
Today, we'll be covering Jimbotron, who is currently tied for the lead and a favourite to win with an astounding total of two (2) points after three matches.
Recently, Jimbotron's " I R lose! I R make Raven as my only offensive unit! GRR!!" strategy, used in the Russell Cup Invitational Season 1 has been getting a lot of attention from the other competitors, some of whom have taken to copying the build, possibly in an effort to refine it or adapt it to their style of play.
So far, in the Russell Cup Invitational Season 2 (two), there have been stunning twists and reversals on proven strategies, not the least of which has been Jimbotron's execution of Brewdwarf's signature dark templar transition when the two worked together on The Boneyard to defeat Braynor and Gamblor's Team Effort in a stunning upset that left all the fans in awe of the mastery and dedication seen only in the ultimate competition that is the Russell Cup Invitational.
Yet perhaps his biggest strength has been his insight into long-term strategy. Mind games and fake-outs come with the territory when competing in the Russell Cup Invitational, but Jimbotron takes it to a Whole New Level as he comments on Brewdwarf's use of his patented raven strategy in a shocking revelation.
According to reliable sources, Jimbotron's use of the raven strategy in the Russell Cup Invitational Season 1 was a calculated ploy designed to give him an advantage in the Russell Cup Invitational Season 2. Knowing the strategy to be faulty, Jimbotron knowingly popularized it in his series against Gamblor so that it would see increased use this season. Shocking!
So far, Jimbotron's long-term planning has proven effective, and many are crediting this as one of many factors contributing to his success. Many believe this is also what allows Jimbotron to correctly place the "secret cannons of Azeroth", the tactic in which cannons are placed in questionable positions in the corner of the map, seemingly useless until they demolish the opponent's forces. Others attest to Jimbotron's previous skill and training as a ram-riding dwarven hunter in the World of Warcraft as a primary factor for his heightened senses.
Yet even more believe that his recent monastic vows and pilgrimage to Tristram have been the source of this "hidden sight", or that this wisdom comes as a result of his acquisition of Diablo's soul stone in the world of Sanctuary. When we asked arch-angel Tyrael - a known associate of Jimbotron's - to comment, he said it would be "unjust" and/or unwise to divulge the source of Jimbotron's power.
Regardless of its source, Jimbotron's skill and powers will continue to be put to the test in the upcoming matches. How will Jimbotron fare in the games to come this season? In the next season? Or the one(s) after that? Only time will tell. We hope you enjoyed this first ever Meet the Players segment. Tune in next time as we continue our exciting coverage of the Russell Cup Invitational Season 2 (two). This is Rusty Russellson, signing off.

Sure, ravens are a good idea. Try it, you'll see.
